Katie Machemer is our new Fourth Grade Teacher. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Religious studies from the University of Dayton, a Marianist Catholic university in Dayton, Ohio. She was the Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries at churches in New York City and the Bay Area for 9 years before pausing her career for several years to spend more time with her growing family. She answered the call to teach elementary school on the peninsula in 2018, and then earned her Master degree in Elementary Education and Curriculum Development from San Francisco State University in May 2022.

Katie lives in Redwood City and is happily married with three children (ages 13, 10, and 7).  Some of her favorite pastimes are reading, traveling, and hiking.  You might find Katie around town volunteering with Girl Scouts or refereeing AYSO soccer games.

Katie is thrilled to be part of this nurturing and welcoming learning community. You can find her on campus in room 11 with her fabulous class!
